On Monday I couldn’t get internet connection. There was no point in trying to write since Punkin was feisty and hardly slept. I played around with iMovie while he was in his play yard.
I have lots of Funny Bones clips in iMovie (see pic below – told you I love costumes), but I haven’t had time to edit them due to moving, babysitting, editing my book, and so many unexpected issues to deal with.
Yesterday I finally discovered how to do the special effects for video and audio in iMovie. Oh, so much fun playing around with them! I used the x-ray effect for the video and the robot effect for audio, plus added some other weird sounds.
I’d like to thank Susie Lindauย of Susie’s Wild Ride for inspiring me to get back to making Youtube videos. Her post of 4-18-12 featured her first Youtube clip. Check it out:
Also, my co-author, Maria Toth, has been making lots of Youtube videos lately using the camera on her iPad. On Monday she discovered Movie Maker on her new laptop, so she whipped up a video using photos taken at the Mystery Night event at the Corona Public Library in California. We (BBH McChiller co-authors) read Monster Moon excerpts and signed our books. Maria added the song Monster Mash to the video. Perfect! It turned out pretty darn good for her first Movie Maker project:
Have you ever edited a clip for a Youtube video? If so, did you find it easy or hard? Please leave your link in my comments section if you have a video you’d like to share.ย
If you haven’t made a video, do you enjoy watching them on blogs? Or not? I’d love to hear what you think!
I like to watch videos on blogs. I think it mixes things up instead of always the same. This one isn't really fun but it is me before my first 10k. ๐ http://www.evolvingsoul11.com/2011/11/morning-after.html
Isn't it fun having no internet on occasion? (Once we get over the "GRR" moments and surrender…) I've posted a couple of videos, but can't take credit for the filming or editing. Having worked with so many talented filmmakers, I feel useless when I make attempts. And it's always weird watching myself, so I typically don't. lol That said, filming and editing are on my potential/imaginary to-do list. ๐
Love your dancing skeleton! LOL!! Yay!!As I do my blogging when at work (during my lunchbreak!!) I can't really watch clips too much but I don't mind them!! Yay! Take carex
That is very cool!! I have a iMovie deely with my Mac. Maybe I should try a video. You and Susie have inspired me.
I haven't tried a video on my own yet. It's still a little farther out of my skill set than I can manage, so I'm going to sit back and leave from all the courageous bloggers who are forging the path. Then a couple months from now once I've got it figured out (somewhat), I can jump in too ๐
I've been on and off line for almost two weeks with computer meltdown. At first I loved it, then I bacame desperate! So much to catch up on that my laptop simply wouldn't allow.Great to see your videos, Lynn. What a great job! And, yes, I get a kick out of videos on blogs.
I don't know anything about creating videos, but I sure enjoyed yours. Looks like you had a lot of fun creating it too =)
I can't watch the videos, as I'm at work, but the still shots sure look cool! I can't imagine having the skill or patience to really do one right, so I'll stick to text and pictures for now.
I admire you for working with media, Lynn. not me. I am so not a visual person. sheesh. but well done. and susie's post is great.
I almost could not believe it Lynn, you are really talented. I've got to try to learn to make youtube videos, I do watch videos on blogs.
And Lynn, I'm not sure if I have told you that my blog has a new address and it is on my profile. Thank you Lynn.
That video is very cool–and creepy! a few years back I did a couple of videos using windows movie maker for my kids' birthdays. It was a lot of fun–and a lot of work. I like to watch videos, but I realize I always check the time on the bottom to see how long it is! I also like book trailer videos–I'm definitely interested in creating one of those sometime soon! ๐
Your dancing skeleton is just about the coolest thing I've seen in a while. I never have edited a clip for Youtube. The whole think scares me. I might try it sometime though. You're so dang talented!!!!!!!! I heart you. Always and forever.
You are one of the coolest people I know. Love your video! I haven't tried to make any of my own yet, but I do want to try one for a date coming up in July. We'll see. I'd appreciate any tips. Hint. hint.

Thank you, all of you, for leaving your comments and your input. If you decide to make a vlog or youtube video, I'd be happy to help in any way I can. My knowledge is quite limited, and I pretty much have to relearn the software when I go to edit something new! Yep, very challenging, but it's a hoot to play around with and come up with a neat video.
Oh! Loved watching these videos. I haven't made any yet so maybe will be making when I'm next on break!Riya
I do enjoy watching videos on blogs. This one is funny. How were you able to manage to look like a skeleton? My blogger dash board has disappeared on me and I do not get a list of blogs I follow. I am wondering if any one else is having this problem.
So weird Lynn! I know that I commented on this last week!!! It says that it will take a moment to be seen so I never stick around, but today I will. Thanks so much for the shout and I am glad that I inspired you.Yours is AMAZING!!!
