Bathroom Bling For The Mother Who Has Everything!

Are you stumped as far as what to get your mom for Mother’s Day? Last March I found the perfect gift for the mom who has everything. It was at the Spring Boutique in Brea, California.

Can you guess what these are? Aren’t they gorgeous?

Look at this photo. Now can you guess?

If you guessed toilet bolt toppers, you get a cookie!

Aren’t those the neatest? What fancy bathroom would be complete without a set of these?

Who is so ingenious and creative that they thought of this?

Donna Hoover and Lindy Stanton, two Southern California women, that’s who. Their business is called Bathroom Bling, For The Girl Who Has Everything.

Their bathroom bling displayed at the Spring Boutique caught my eye. I had to show my sisters.

Ooh-la-la, they thought these were impressive, too. We pitched in and bought a pair for Mom for Mother’s Day. $25.00 a set, which includes tax. And every pair is unique.

We couldn’t wait until Mother’s Day to give them to Mom, so we had her open her gift right there at the boutique. She loved them. So much so that she had to go buy another set for her other bathroom!

Then my sister gave in to temptation and bought a set for her own guest bathroom.

If you want to buy a set for your mother (so she can be the coolest mom on the block), or to buy them for yourself, you can email Donna Hoover at donnajohoover at roadrunner dot com, or contact herΒ by leaving a message on her Facebook page here.

The Bathroom Bling comes in a wide variety of colors, so have at it picking yours out! Easy to install – They fit right on top of the bolt toppers. Easy to clean – Just lift them off and rinse under the faucet.

Pam, Cindy, me, and Mom

Here I am at the boutique with my sisters, Pam and Cindy, and our mom.

Mother’s Day is right around the corner and I already gave Mom the fancy toilet bolt toppers. Now I need to get her something else.

Hmm. Any ideas?

  1. Cute! I’d love to get some for my bathrooms. However…I have a few cats, one in particular, who would notice them immediately, then who knows where the toilet bolt toppers would wind up. This is the cat who will pick up the rings from milk and juice jugs with his mouth, whip his head back and fling them…and then chase them like a dog playing fetch with itself. So yeah, as much as he loves the rings, something pretty and sparkly where he could get to them? Not going to work. Oh the things I give up for cats…

As for a new Mother’s Day gift idea? I think an all-inclusive cruise and 2-week stay in Jamaica would be a good one. I could go along to keep her company, too. πŸ˜€

    • Kristy, I can see how cats would find these bathroom blings irresistible! Cats do the funniest things. I think my mom would love it if I gave her a cruise trip and 2-week stay in Jamaica. Sure, you can go along to keep her company, and shucks, I might as well go, too! πŸ™‚

  2. Bathroom Bling! I love it πŸ™‚ Over here in Melbourne, there is a ‘new’ giant ferris wheel called the Melbourne Star (like the London Eye). Only it keeps breaking down. So in a bid to get people on it this year, they are letting mothers ‘fly for free’ on Mothers’ Day. The jury is out whether that’s a good or bad gift!

    • Hi Alarna! I think I’d pass on a free ride on that giant Ferris wheel! I’ve been afraid of Ferris wheel rides since I was a kid, and one that breaks down? Well, not too appealing! I can see some people talking their mothers-in-law into taking advantage of the free ride! Haha!

  3. Hahahaha, I want them. (Ivy does too) One problem. All the boys. (Get where I’m going with this?) Umm, I don’t have to spell it out, right? We do have a GIRLS bathroom tucked away in my bedroom, but the boys use it too. *sigh*

Love the pic. You and Pam look almost like twinsies.

My mom is in Heaven, so can I have a day of no worries (and some chocolate cake, chocolate pie and chocolate Hershey Bliss). Love you. xoxo SWAK!

    • Robyn – Oh, yep, I get what you’re saying. That’s why I mentioned they’re easy to clean! Haha! I’ll tell Pam you think we look alike. She’ll get a kick out of that.
I hope your Mother’s Day is a day of no worries and all the chocolate you can eat! You deserve the best Mother’s Day ever! Love you, too! XO

  4. They are awesome, Lynn! What a neat idea.

  5. Marilyn Powell says:

Love my bathroom Bling! Great gift. Thanks Lynn and Pammy.

  6. Those are great! I’d have to know they’re easy to clean before getting them for my mom, IYKWIM LOL. Like Kristy, the cat could be a problem too.

    • Jennette – I know exactly what you mean! πŸ™‚ From what I understand, they’re very easy to clean, but I’d ask Donna when contacting her to purchase them. As far as cats, they might find the bathroom bling to be even better than catnip! Haha!

  7. You know, that really is for the person who has everything. Might need a toilet seat cover to go with them.

  8. Patricia says:

Okay, seriously? If I were to get these, then I’d have to find a some glittering gadget to cover the handle with and then the bolts connecting the seat to the bowl would look bland so I’d need to figure out how to snaz those up. You see, this could get costly and ghastly. I’ll stick with the basic white plastic dealies. But he, thanks for the suggestion.

    Too funny.

    • Actually, Patricia, I think you might be on to something! Snazzing up those other parts of the toilet might be a fun craft. Get some beaded wire and maybe some old earrings and necklaces. Great way to recycle! Spray to clean ’em, and voila! Hmm, somehow I have a feeling this has already been done by someone, so it’s not so far fetched, huh? Thanks for stopping by!

  9. yvette carol says:

I think you should just take her food on the day, like make some cookies and make it up all pretty! You’ve done enough. The bathroom bling was so gorgeous, I’d spend all my time standing there by the loo, admiring them in the glint of the sunlight! ha ha πŸ™‚

  10. Love!! So funny and cute. They also remind me of Christmas ornaments we used to have as a kid. I think my grandmother bought them at the senior center craft fair. πŸ™‚

    • Coleen – I can just picture a Christmas tree filled with beautiful ornaments similar to the bathroom bling! Wouldn’t that be cool, especially with the string of lights to reflect off of them?

  11. If my mom were still alive she would think these were a hoot!! I just might get myself a pair for ‘my’ bathroom (yes, we have his and hers bathrooms; one of the joys of having an empty nest). I think I’ll e-mail her and ask if she has any in a shell motif.

Thanks for a fun post, Lynn!

  12. Kourtney says:

LOL. You totally surprised me with this one. First I thought they were earrings. How delightful to bling up the toilet instead. πŸ˜‰ Cute!

  13. I love it when there’s bling created. Where did they get the jewelry? Good find, Lynn!

    • Hi Lee! I don’t know where they got the jewelry, but it looked like they used fancy beads and used wire. Not sure, though. Yes, I thought it was a great find and would make for an interesting blog post! You must be so relieved now that the A to Z Challenge is over! Time for some R&R!

  14. What a unique idea! They are pretty, but I feel like I would be forever reaching down to pick them up – looks like someone dropped a brooch.

  15. Okay, these are seriously awesome.

    Love it!

    (Followed you over from WITS!)

  16. Debra Kristi says:

Love the sparkly! It’s a great idea. I’d go for a set in all rhinestones if I thought they’d stay in place. For some reason our bolt toppers are always getting knocked off and broken. No idea how that happens. πŸ™ You have inspired me to try and fix the problem, though.

    • Debra – We used to have toilets that were like that, and they drove me nuts! It was a brand new house, too. Go figure! The bathroom bling is a good reason to fix them! Thanks for stopping by, Debra!

  17. Nas says:

Oh, my! I never thought something like this could be available…and my new house is being built now!

Would love to buy a pair of toilet bling. I bought several pair some years ago and the website address I have is no longer working. Please send me your website address so I can purchase more. Thanks.
