The Daily Word prompt is invisible.
My 16-month-old niece loves this giant dog, Dean, an Anatolian Shepherd. Five-year-old big brother’s not so fond of Dean and has barricaded himself behind the coffee table, hoping to make himself invisible.
Here’s a 30-second video. These two kiddos and this big, lovable dog are so cute, there’s no way they can be invisible, no matter how hard they might try. Sweet!
Are you familiar with Anatolian Shepherd dogs? The breed originated in the Anatolia region of central Turkey. According to the American Kennel Club, “Anatolians are smart, devoted, responsive, and adaptable. They will protect their flock—livestock, children, smaller dogs, even the family cat—with intensity.” They are considered to be a working guard dog.
As you can see from the video, this dog is gentle with children. Their temperament is considered to be loyal, independent, and reserved.
- Average lifespan – 11 to 13 years
- Average height: Males – 29 inches, Females – 27 inches
- Average weight: Males – 110 to 150 pounds, Females – 80 to 120 pounds

What an adorable video! Sounds like a good breed of dog…surprised I have never heard of it, until now. Thanks for the info 🙂
I think it’s adorable, too! I hadn’t heard of this breed of dog before either, but I’d consider getting one if we had a bigger yard. Thanks for visiting, Pambelina!
