Retro Jewelry Haul From an Estate Sale – Part 3 – Long Chain Necklaces

Do you like retro jewelry? Here are some pieces I bought at an estate sale. This is Part 3 of my Retro Jewelry Haul.

Haul” happens to be the Word Press one-word prompt for today! How cool is that?

I don’t wear a lot of jewelry. The main reason I bought these pieces is to use them for craft projects, like altered art. I like to decorate photo boxes, so chains, beads, and other pieces of jewelry make nice borders and embellishments.

This first piece has two very long chains. The problem I have with long chain necklaces is the way they get tangled so easy. Have you ever had a necklace chain tie itself in knots? Did it take forever to untangle it? Does it drive you crazy?

The medallion has a bamboo look to it. It’s a heavy piece, so I would never wear it. How about you, do you like heavy jewelry? Would you wear this?

The next necklace looks heavy, but it’s pretty lightweight. It might look good with the right outfit.

What do you say? Yea or nay?

I’ll use it for an altered art craft. The back is flat, so it will be easy to glue it onto something.

I would decoupage some photos or artwork on the box first and then add jewelry pieces.

Here’s a YouTube video of Part 3. It’s nine and a half minutes long, so it’s rather lengthy. I bump my head on the shelf in the background at about 4 minutes and 20 seconds into the video. Just a flesh wound and I was only unconscious for a minute. Just kidding. It was a minor bump and not funny enough for America’s Funniest Home Videos.

This next necklace is very lightweight. The metal pieces jingle. Would you wear this, or do you think it’s ugly?

It will be a nice piece to use this piece for an art project.

This next necklace looks kind of Boho to me. I love the colors of the beads and sequins. Is this your style or no way?

Bummer that the middle part of the medallion is loose. I think I’ll use some glue to keep it from falling apart and then add it to my crafts stash for a special project.

I’m up in the air about this next piece. Wear it or use it for altered art? The gold tassels are pretty, and so is the chain.

It’s lightweight and easy to put on. Just tie one end over the other. Voila! A nice accessory to dress up any outfit.

The beautiful tassels would look impressive as part of a craft project, and the chains would make a nice border.

That’s it for Part 3 of the Retro Jewelry Haul. You can find Part 1 – Cute or Ugly? Bangles and Beads here.

Part 2 features Carved Animals and Wood Pieces.

What are your thoughts? Do you like long necklaces? Boho jewelry? Have you used jewelry pieces for craft projects? I’d love to hear your thoughts!
