Ragged Old Slippers – A Poem

At first glance, my old slippers don’t look too shabby.

Turn them over. Whoa! If they could talk, imagine the stories they could tell. They were good to me for years, so they deserved a poem at the very least.

Ragged Old Slippers

Once soft and perky
Fuzzy warm pups
Cushioned my toes
Padded each step
Snug and comfy

Pattering through time
Like whispering dreams
Measured miles
Take a toll

Tired and scruffy
Loyal old dogs
Worn, grimy soles
Cracked and gritty
Tattered edges
Insides spilling out

Sleep well, faithful friends
