The Science of Creativity!

I knew my Monster Moon Mystery series coauthor, Kathryn Sant, would be an awesome blogger because she’s a retired OB-Gyn, loves all things science and history related, loves writing and reading, is brilliant, creative, and extremely humble. She never toots her own horn. So, honk! Honk! Honk! I’m tooting it for her!

Kathy just wrote her second blog post, and it’s jam-packed with fascinating info about creativity. This is a must-read post for all parents, teachers, and creative folks who want to boost their creativity.

Kathy took the below photos of graffiti on a wall in Tijuana during her most recent trip with a group of other medical professionals who volunteer their time and talents to provide health services for people who live in extreme poverty. The creativity she witnessed amongst their community is what inspired her to write the post.

  1. That’s cool she goes to help those living in poverty. Neat wall art.

  2. How wonderful that a retired doctor’s second career is writing! I wish I had a set of professional knowledge to bring into my writing. ๐Ÿ™‚ Kathryn sounds like a brilliant gem!

    • Teresa – I know, I wish I had all Kathy’s knowledge, too! She actually got published right before she started med school. Her very first submission, a middle grade novel, Desert Chase, got picked up by Scholastic. But she had four little boys and writing didn’t pay enough, so she put herself through med school. That in itself amazes me! She’s a brilliant gem, for sure. You’d have a great time discussing all that science-related stuff with her! ๐Ÿ™‚

It is so nice to meet people who can find beauty in their surroundings. What might be junk or graffitti to one person, is another person’s art.

Isn’t it nice to surround yourself with creative people?

Fabulous writing partner you have, Lynn. Kathy sounds wonderful. A new friend came to visit yesterday, and she said, she’d ‘enjoyed being in this house surrounded by art’. I never thought of our home that way before, but now I do! I like the kids’ art best of all ๐Ÿ™‚

  5. Yvette – Yes, Kathy is a fantastic writing partner. I learn so much from her. I can see why your friend said that about the art in your home. Your paintings are awesome, and I’m so glad you finally got them hung on your walls to share with all your guests. I love children’s art, too. They come up with some great stuff, don’t they?

  6. Kathy sounds like my kind of gal! The graffiti is fantabulous!! I could stare at it for an hour. Heading over, bestie!
