We don’t want anyone to get hurt, just a little startle, a scream, and lots of giggles.

I need to find my plastic spiders.Β I’ll report back if I’m successful. Hee-hee!

If you try this, too, let me know how it goes!

Tip: Don’t forget you set this up. You might end up pranking yourself!Β Yes, that has happened to a few pranksters. If you’re going to dish it out, you’ve got to be ready to take it, too!

Are you a prankster? Would you do this? Are you usually the brunt of April Fools jokes, or are you the joker? What’s your best April Fools joke so far?Β

P.S. I have a quirky writing prompt post today over at the Emblazon website – Ugly Foot Finds Its Doppleganger. It’s a good one for kids. They just might run with it!

Hop on over and check it out.

  1. I am so going to do that next week!

  2. We’re not pranksters; we’re more into verbal humor. πŸ˜‰ I don’t think my heart can take pranks!

    • Teresa – Thanks for the heads up. I won’t prank you if your heart can’t take it I come from a family of pranksters. My brother-in-law isn’t the least bit amused by my sister’s pranks, but she still gets him and busts a gut over it when she’s successful!

  3. Spiders–even fake ones–make me scream. When I was a teen, I broke my finger trying to “defend” myself against one. πŸ™‚ The prank we’ve done the most is putting a rubber band around the kitchen sink sprayer. Never fails!

    • Coleen – Oh my gosh, you broke a finger because of a spider? I sure would love it if you did a blog post about that! The rubber band around the kitchen sink sprayer is a good one! I haven’t done it myself. I better get to it, huh? πŸ™‚

  4. LOL! That’s awesome. I used to be into pranking, but I think I grew out of it. (Shh! Don’t tell anyone.) That’s probably good, since I have kids who WATCH ME LIKE A HAWK every hour of the day. Yeah…

My husband did prank himself one year on accident. We were headed out to a family event and he put on his shoes in the dark. When we arrived, someone pointed out he was wearing two different shoes. To this day, he swears I set that up.

    • Crystal – Oh, yes, the kids will copy whatever you do. You can prank them when they’re a little older! That’s a funny story about your husband. I’ve worn the wrong shoes before, too, and it’s embarrassing, but I couldn’t blame it on anyone but myself! Thanks so much for stopping by!

  5. Hey. How’d you get my photo? *wink* Love it. PULEASE don’t tell the boys. ACK. April fools is dangerous here. One year they fixed it so their brother found an Easter egg. He ate it! (It had been a couple weeks since Easter. The egg had been outside.) YUK! He loved those eggs until that day. Now he can’t stand the smell of eggs. Poor guy.

    • Robyn – Oh, no, that’s awful about eating an old Easter egg. I hope it wasn’t a horrible case of food poisoning. Poor kid. I won’t remind your boys about April Fools. Mum’s the word!

I’ll be thinking about you and Christopher. Waiting to hear how it goes. Big ol’ honkin’ hugs to both of you. XO

  6. OMG, that is a hideous prank!! Spiders in the toilet…I had a real one the other day. That was, to say the least, not funny. Anyone who played that on me would be DEAD!! πŸ™‚

    • Alarna – I know you’ve got some huge spiders in your neck of the woods! A real spider is worse than the prank! I guess I better not prank you with a fake spider then. You’ve given fair warning! πŸ™‚

  7. I’m tempted by this. Really. If I do it and my husband divorces me, may I come to stay at your house?

    • Lee – Of course you can come stay at my place! We’ll have fun plotting out some pranks for next year. I bet it would make a great blog post if you get a good reaction from him, so just tell him it’s for research! πŸ™‚

  8. Yvette Carol says:

Hi, Lynn, I’m definitely not a prankster. Though my friends throughout my school years were, and they always delighted in pranking me. I used to be terrified of April 1st when I was young!
    Thank goodness, I’m over that now. I think… πŸ˜‰

  9. Aw, Yvette, so you were the brunt of the April Fools pranks. I fell for plenty of them, even when I was on guard! But I’ve always loved to pull them, too. Not so much when the kids were little because who has time when you’re busy raising kids? I guess you’re lucky your boys aren’t pranksters, huh?

  10. Diana Beebe says:

That is hilarious! Ahem…I mean, that’s terrible!!!

I’m not a prankster, so I couldn’t do that to someone–especially with spiders! LOL.

    • Glad you got a kick out of it! Ahem…I mean sorry you disapprove of it! πŸ™‚
Yep, the spiders are usually good for pranks since so many of us get the heebie jeebies from them!

  11. I am always on the lookout on April 1st- but the rest of the year I am easier to prank. Spiders don’t scare me- but lots of other things do. I have a friend who is big into pranking people. He is married to one of my best friends. He used to hide when he got home before her and jump out (they lived in a city- so there was no way to tell if he was home). She laughed at first- but then she had to beg him to stop, as she was on edge when she got home wondering if and where he was hiding. He is a tricky one!

    • Oh my gosh, your poor friend! I startle so easily, and sometimes my husband will walk into the room when I’m not expecting it, and I scream! It would be funny at first, but I can see how it would get old fast. Being a prankster myself, if my husband was like your friend’s, I’d have something ready for payback the next time he scared me. Not sure what, but I’d have fun looking for something, maybe a can of fart spray (do they sell such a thing?) or one of those guns that shoots suction cups or something that would catch him off guard!

So you’re not afraid of spiders! You’re one of the few, I think! We’ll have to find another prank to play on you! JK!

  12. Kourtney says:

I am not a pranker. I tend to like to match wits with sarcasm as my weapon of choice.

  13. Hi Kourtney! Matching wits with sarcasm sounds like a great weapon. Good choice! Thanks so much for stopping by and commenting.

  14. That is awesome, Lynn! I’m so scared of spiders I might live to regret that one though.

    • Catherine – I’m not crazy about spiders either, especially big black ones that might be black widows! I might live to regret this prank, too, if I forget I set it up and prank myself! Haha!

  15. Old Kitty says:

LOL!!!!! That’s so funny!!! Now off I go to find some fake spiders!! Happy April Fool’s Day, Lynn!! Take care

    • Hello OC – Yes, I need to dig out my fake spiders today! The ones I have are those cheap rings for kids. I’ll just cut off the part that slips over my finger. I have some left over from book signings! Hope you’re successful. Let us know how it goes! Happy April Fools Day to you, too!

  16. Going to look for my… supplies! πŸ™‚
