Mighty Thor Visits One-Year-Old Boy

I’ve waited months for Thor to visit me during his world tour, which began long, long ago on Debra Kristi’s blog, Sparks in the Fire of Imagination. You can read about his other stops there.

Tameri Etherton entertained Thor by celebrating her birthday and Easter with him before sending him my way.

As soon as Thor arrived, I whisked him off to meet my grandbaby and help entertain him (in other words, help me babysit).

Mighty Thor made a grand entrance.

They got off to a good start, but what was up with the ‘Human Child’ lingo? I figured Thor must be bad with names, so I played along.

‘Human Child’ loves new toys, but. . .

. . . he did not like Thor’s tone.

“You not my daddy!”

He yanked on Thor’s cape. . .

. . . held him upside down, and. . .

. . . made him ride the choo-choo.

Next, a little dunk in the ‘strange white pond.’

Thor noticed Human Child’s fascination with the water, which ‘sometimes swirled, emptied, then replenished.’

While the child was preoccupied, Thor made his move.

But to no avail.

Human Child snatched him up, put him behind bars. . .

. . . then took him to a torture chamber.

Thor spotted a tall tower with the word “genie” on it.

“I will release the genie to distract Human Child long enough to escape this madness.”

He opened the top, only to be assaulted by toxic fumes.

“What trickery is this? Smells like a dung hill. If there’s a genie in there, he’s nothing but a dead carcass now. Hmm, this passage must lead to the dungeon.”

Finally, after enduring hours of torment, Human Child subjected Thor to the worst of the worst: Bad manners.

“Enough!” Mighty Thor thundered.

With that, he disappeared in a flash.

  1. Yeah, I don’t think he’s coming back either! Bite eyeball! That slays me. Poor Thor. That poor guy just can’t catch a break. Us human are too, well, human for him! Your little guy is just too darned cute. I love the ride on the choo-choo, but I think the genie in the dungeon is my fave. No, maybe the white pool that has water that empties and replenishes! What a fun adventure, Lynn!

I hope your dogs have recovered from the chocolate coma! It was so great to see you Saturday. Thanks for the early morning giggle!!

LOL! That is awesome, Lynn! I love it. Thor bested by a one-year-old! I bet he won’t admit to that though.

  3. tedstrutz says:

Poor Thor… forced to battle a 1 year old! First Tameri and now Lynn… what was Debra thinking???

  4. susielindau says:

Hahaha! I don’t think he’s coming back either! Bite eyeball!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I think Thor was no match for a toddler. It looks as thought he almost got a “swirly” in the toilet too!
    Loved it!

  5. Marilyn Powell says:

  6. Perhaps, Diana! Need a cute one. If she orders me around, at least, I can look at her and smile!

Hilarious. Hmm, I get to choose a superhero? Gotta be Spiderman. Always loved his snappy sense of humor. And yeah, the web-slinging part is cool too.

  8. LMAO at the video and pics – especially at Thor’s adventure with the Diaper Genie! He is coming to visit me soon. I was going to take him to see Jekyl and Hyde the Musical, but it would be pretty tame after surviving a day with the one year old boy!

  9. OMG! LOL. Bite Eyeball! I’m going to remember that one. Too funny!

  10. Lynn, that video is AMAZING. Bring up a beer! LOL

  11. Joni Hahn aka Sophie Greyson says:

This was hilarious! The torture chamber was killer. 🙂

  12. Hahahaha… Sounds like Thor had quite a time at your place. I hope his mood improves before he arrives here in my little corner of the world!

Great post, and the video was a hoot!

    • Thanks, Laura. He’ll be heading your way this week, and I, too, hope he’s in a much better mood when he arrives at your place. I guarantee you’ll have tons of fun with Thor! Thanks for stopping by.

  13. Debra Kristi says:

LOVE this post! You did a fantastic job. On the post, I mean. Sorry Thor left in such a hurry. LOL. A dead genie down in the dungeon. You nailed this piece. Thanks so much for hosting!

  14. The genie in the dungeon, an almost intro to the poor god’s hot tub…whoa! Poor Thor. Cute little articulate guy – 1…Thor – 0. Seriously though…your grandson is freaking adorable! I love to hear the things toddlers have to say. And bite eyeball may well become part of my vocabulary. At the very least, I’ll get some weird looks while I’m out in public. Oh wait…I already do. Hmm.

What superhero would I entertain? Hmm. Iron Man or Captain America? Iron Man would win out there, but I’d rather entertain both of them. And they could bring Hawkeye and Bruce Banner along….just because. 🙂

    • Thanks, Kristy! I already get weird looks out in public, too, so if I let out a “Bite eyeball” or two, no biggie!

It was fun trying to translate baby babble. He wasn’t really saying, “Bring up a beer!” Or was he? I know son-in-law and daughter never say that, so it’s random gibberish!

Oh, yes, you should invite both Iron Man and Captain America and make sure they bring Hawkeye Bruce Banner, and then send them on a world tour like Debra did with Thor! LOL!

  15. lynettemburrows says:

Dead genie in the dungeon? Bite Eyeball? Oh my, I needed a good laugh, particularly tonight. Great job, Lynn!

  16. macswriter says:

I do believe you’ve coined a new term, and a mighty useful one at that. Bite eyeball! I love it.

  17. Trese says:

Very entertaining! Bet Thor’s wishing he was back here with the cats after that. Bite eyeball, ha ha haha ha!

  18. Old Kitty says:

Hello Lynn!!! Wow – you;ve moved to wordpress! it looks lovely!! Awww I don’t really know what’s going on here but that little one is adorable and not at all impressed with the mighty Thor!!! LOL! Take care

    • Thanks so much, OC, for hopping over to my new place. Glad you like it. Thor is doing a world tour, visiting any bloggers who want to host him and write a post about his visit, then send him to his next destination. He’s been across the pond already and will be going over again. Let Debra Kristi know if you’d like Thor to come visits you and your kitties!

  19. I’m both a mythology and comic book fan so Thor has a special place in my heart! 😉 While I was chuckling at your post, the entire time this little voice was whispering loudly in my head: I MUST buy me a Thor action figure; he is very handsome! LOL! Well, why not? I already have Batman, Superman, Green Lantern, Flash and Wolverine action figures.

I’ll have to watch the video when I’m in town. My bandwidth won’t allow for video watching nonsense. ;D

    • Wow, Teresa, you really are a big fan. Thor will fit in perfectly with your collection. I hope you get a chance to watch the video when you’re in town. You’ll get a kick out of it. And if you want Thor to visit you, contact Debra Kristy!

OMG that video is priceless! Great post, Lynn! 😀

  21. Oh my God – I’m dying. That is so funny. You gals are so clever with your graphics and pictures and videos. I need to get into the game and learn how to do some of these cool things.

That was fun, Lynn. Thanks for taking the time to put this together.

  22. Thank you, Patricia. I’m jazzed to get that response from you! Playing around with photos is so much fun. Some day I’ll learn photoshop, but we can do cool stuff without it. Took lots of practice bumbling around iMovie before I figured out how to get to the special effects option. It’s a blast. If I’m too tired to write, I like to mindlessly play around with photos and iMovie. Give it a shot. There’s Movie Maker, I believe it’s called, for PCs. Thanks for visiting and commenting.

  23. Gina says:

This was a really great post! I enjoyed reading this post very much.

  24. Bish Denham says:

Let me bite your eyeball… too funny!

  25. These photos are awesome! So fun to look through and read the tags. Thor had quite the adventure!

  26. cleemckenzie says:

Thor took quite a thrashing from that one-year-old. That will teach those high and mighty super dudes to mess with humans.

  27. Great one Lynn! It’s funny that even Thor himself get’s stumped by the diaper Genie. I don’t feel so bad that I’ve lost battles with it as well. 🙂
