Trippy Hippie Party – Photo Essay

It’s a trip hippie party! Owrrrr! Can you dig it?

My hubby, George, turned 60 in July. Our daughter ‘Lily’ and her husband threw him a big old honkin’ party with a hippie theme. The ‘cool’ people wore funky threads, man.

A week before the party, Lily couldn’t stop talking about her costume, so Dane, Mr. Practical Joker, set out to copy her outfit. I had to play spy and find out what she was wearing.

Dane and his wife checked at two Forever 21 stores, but couldn’t find the matching top. The day of the party, they stopped at Forever 21 in Bakersfield and found it.
Yes, he got a lot of strange looks at the party!

  1. Photos are great! Happy birthday to George.I was a kid in the sixties, and living in a foreign country for part of it, so don't remember much music. I know my parents like the Rolling Stones.

Far out, man! What a totally cool theme for a party. It's the dawning of the Age of Aquarius all over again. 🙂

  3. What a fun party! Love the psychedelic effects on the photos. I was too young to remember much of the sixties and my parents were "establishment" anyway 🙂 – but I love a lot of the music – your trippy pics made me think of the Grateful Dead! Happy BD!

We are Very Boring. ;)I have to tell you though that the psychedelic renderings of the photos made me a little queasy after a while, so I guess it's good that I was born in '64 and missed the whole hippie phase. LOL!
